The Industrial Revolution(I.R.) was mostly good for the world but it also had some major downsides. Listed below are the key points of "good and bad"
- One way the IR was a good thing for the world was because of the new impact on technology. It was a huge turning point in history. People could get around easier because of the locomotive. All these technologies were mass produced easier because of more workers and machines. Machines impacted our life today with electrical technology like computers and phones.
- It spurred other countries to start their own IR. The IR was bad, because it started child labor so they could mass produce more products. They lived in poor living and working conditions. The class struggle between poor and rich sparked Karl Marx to start communism which affects us today.
- In the end, the IR was mostly a good thing because it encouraged a lot of growth, made life easier, and affected other countries. The good outweighs the bad because it affects us today. Without the industrial revolution we wouldn't have computer, cars or other technology. Computers expand learning and resources which encourage more growth in technology and inventions. Cars improve transportation which encourage us to take distant jobs. In all, the IR encouraged a chain of technological and industrial change which still hasn't ended.
